- Man City about to sign French youngster
- Deal agreed with City Football Group club
- Player still needs to green light move
Manchester City will be adding a 19-year-old to their squad who has made 33 appearances in Ligue 2 this season.
The only focus at Manchester City at this moment in time is the FA Cup, and it will shift to the Premier League ahead of Tuesday’s game against Bournemouth.
However, there is always work going on behind the scenes, with transfer talks taking place well before the window opens.
City have been looking at talents to bring in, and they appear to have made an agreement to complete their first signing ahead of this summer.
Man City agree terms with Troyes for Mathys Detourbet
It was reported last month that Man City agreed a £13m fee to sign Mathys Detourbet, but new information has since been revealed.
The actual figure agreed is £21.7m according to RMC Sport journalist Fabrice Hawkins, with bonuses included.

Should Detourbet agree to the move, he will join Monaco on a season-long loan, which could be extended by a further year.
Detourbet still needs to be developed
Man City’s first-team is notoriously difficult to break into. Indeed, there are a selection of fine players who are sitting on the bench each week.
Detourbet has clearly shown signs of promise, otherwise City would not be interested in adding him to their squad.
Despite this, he is clearly not being brought in as someone who will be making regular appearances from the get-go.
In fact, it could be a couple more seasons until Detourbet actually wears the iconic sky blue jersey for the first time.
Man City have good cover on the left wing
Detourbet has the ability to play as a centre forward, or in a slightly deeper central role, but he mainly operates as a left winger.
This is an area where City already have plenty of options. Jeremy Doku starts there most weeks, and Antoine Semenyo could easily be brought over to that side.
Additionally, the likes of Phil Foden and Savinho are both capable of playing there, so the Citizens do not need a new addition at this point in time.
Therefore, sending Detourbet out on loan is a solid decision, and one which will benefit both parties concerned.
