Jamie Carragher has made a big claim about Jeremy Doku after two mindblowing performances from the winger.

Manchester City have picked up four points from their two most recent matches. Would this be the case without Jeremy Doku? Absolutely not!

The Belgian international scored two brilliant goals against Everton, before bagging another to break the deadlock against Brentford on Saturday.

With four goals and an assist in his past five Premier League appearances, and a goal in the FA Cup semi-finals, Doku’s contributions to Man City have been highly important.

Jamie Carragher calls Jeremy Doku the Premier League’s best winger

Doku has been so good that his performances have impressed far more than just his own club’s supporters.

Indeed, Jamie Carragher revealed on Sky Sports MNF that he thinks the 23-year-old is the best winger in England.

“Doku is keeping the title race alive, and that was the same at the weekend,” Carragher claimed. “We know what happened at Everton, getting that last gasp point.

“I think looking at it right now, I think he’s the best winger in the Premier League. Certainly the one if I was a defender, I wouldn’t want to play against.”

Doku tore Brentford apart

It was clear Brentford had a defensive plan on Saturday, and it worked well during the first half of the game.

There was a lot of emphasis placed on stopping Doku and Rayan Cherki in their tracks, and they succeeded in subduing the Frenchman.

However, Doku kept finding a way round his man, proving unstoppable as he cut inside and caused chaos.

It was a performance that only the best players are capable of delivering, which backs up Carragher’s verdict on the wing wizard.

Man City need Doku to keep delivering

There are only four matches left for Man City to play before the season ends – one cup final and three other games which are just as important.

With Doku in such wonderful form, City certainly have a good shot at winning the FA Cup, if not the Premier League as well.

The important thing is that he keeps it up, because one underwhelming performance could be the difference between winning and missing out on silverware.
