Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola has named his matchday squad for tonight’s must-win trip to Everton in the Premier League.

With City six points behind Arsenal, winning the first of their two games in hand is essential to maintaining their title challenge.

The Sky Blues return to action after a nine-day break following their FA Cup semi-final victory against Southampton.

Nothing but a win will do for City on Merseyside tonight, with maximum points needed to ensure they keep pace with the league leaders.

Nico Gonzalez rewarded for FA Cup heroics

After scoring a late winner against the Saints at Wembley, Nico Gonzalez has been rewarded for his stunning strike with a place in Guardiola’s starting XI.

The Spaniard scored just three minutes from time with a thunderous long-range effort to secure City a record fourth straight FA Cup final, where they will face Chelsea on Saturday, 16 May.

Elsewhere, Nico O’Reilly returns to left-back after starting in midfield against Burnley, with Rayan Ait-Nouri dropping to the bench.

Nothing but a win will do for Man City tonight

With a six-point deficit to Arsenal, City will need to be perfect in their remaining games to stand any chance of winning the title.

Their final five fixtures will not be easy, but they must take them one at a time and ensure they do not drop points, starting with tonight’s tricky trip to the Toffees.

A win will keep the pressure on Arsenal. Anything else, and the Gunners will have been handed a massive advantage as the title race reaches its climax.
