- Man City travel to Everton on Monday
- Paul Merson predicts draw
- Ex-Arsenal man has repeatedly predicted City dropping points
Former Arsenal midfielder Paul Merson has yet again predicted Manchester City will drop points in their next Premier League game.
The 58-year-old pundit played more than 300 times for Arsenal from 1985 to 1997, winning two league titles, the League Cup and the FA Cup with the Gunners.
Merson is known for his bold predictions, and has frequently suggested City will lose or draw in big games this season.
Now, he has predicted Pep Guardiola’s side will drop points when they travel to Merseyside to face Everton on Monday night.
Paul Merson predicts Man City will draw with Everton
In his weekly predictions for Sportskeeda, Merson has predicted a 1-1 draw between the Carabao Cup winners and the Toffees.
Once again, it is another negative prediction from an ex-Gunner who seems unable to put his personal bias aside.
He explained: “The pressure will be on Manchester City here. If Arsenal don’t win against Fulham, I would back City to win two-nil or even three-nil in this game.
“But I think Arsenal will win and that could force City to slip up in their chase. Everton have a lot of footballers who can hurt City.

“I thought they were very unlucky to lose against Liverpool and West Ham in the last two games. Not long ago, I remember them slaughtering Chelsea at this stadium!
“This is a difficult game for City. If Arsenal lose to Fulham, City can afford to draw one of their upcoming games and still win the league,” Merson continued.
“But I just think it won’t get to that stage, I’m predicting the title race to be over this weekend with a Manchester City draw at Everton.”
Merson says Arsenal will win the title if they beat Fulham
In the other big match in the title race, Merson has predicted his former team to get the job done at home to Fulham.
He said: “This is a huge football match. Fulham’s win against Aston Villa keeps them busy in the race for European qualification. If Villa finish fifth and win the Europa League, the sixth-placed team will qualify for the Champions League. Even though Fulham are 10th in the table, they are just two points off sixth place.
“If Arsenal win this game, they win the league! Three points to Mikel Arteta’s team in this one and Manchester City will have to pull up trees to win the title from here on.

“City still have to go to Everton and Bournemouth, which are two tricky away fixtures. Arsenal getting points on the board before those games will be an advantage for sure.
“I watched City against Burnley and I thought they weren’t that great either. I expect them to score goals in games, but they could concede chances and a team like Everton or Bournemouth might hurt them!”
Merson added: “Arsenal must forget about the second leg against Atletico Madrid and get the job done against Fulham. If they lose to Fulham, then they will definitely lose to Atletico on Tuesday. And hence, it could be all over for them in the next few days. Arsenal must get the win.”
Everything still to play for for Arsenal and Manchester City
Contrary to what Merson has suggested, the title cannot be won this weekend. With four games still to play – five for City – there is a great deal that could still happen.
Arsenal beating Fulham would stretch their lead to six points at the top. However, the Cityzens will still have two games in hand when they face Everton.
Win both of those, and they would return to the top spot, regardless of Arsenal’s results. Plus, if the Gunners do slip up against Fulham, it hands Guardiola’s men a massive advantage heading into the final weeks.
