- Eli Kroupi wanted by Pep Guardiola
- Talks ongoing with player’s representatives
- Sizeable asking price must be met
Manchester City are interested in bringing Eli Junior Kroupi to the Etihad Stadium, but he will come at a significant cost.
Erling Haaland has been the man to lead Manchester City’s line this season, limiting the minutes of any alternatives.
Omar Marmoush started against Southampton last Saturday, but this was only his 14th of the season up to this point.
Already, Marmoush has been linked with a summer move away from City and this means the club might need to be on the lookout for a replacement.
Manchester City want to sign Eli Kroupi
According to Sacha Tavolieri, Pep Guardiola has been impressed by Kroupi since his move to the Premier League last year.
Several decision-makers at Man City are also keen on the 19-year-old, and Hugo Viana has met with his agent.
However, no contact has been made with Bournemouth, who are looking to charge at least £69.3m for their striker.
Kropi’s profile has attracted Man City
The fact Kroupi is so good with the ball at his feet has caught the attention of Man City. Indeed, the star’s technical ability is one of his standout features.
Additionally, Kroupi shows sound judgement with his decision-making and his acceleration has impressed the Sky Blues’ scouts.
And with 11 goals in 17 Premier League starts, it is clear that the teenager has adjusted well to the Premier League.
Antoine Semenyo could encourage Kroupi to join Man City
The transfer window can be just as tactical as what happens on the pitch, and there is one card for Man City to play which could make securing Kroupi much easier.
Antoine Semenyo played alongside the youngster for a year at Bournemouth, and City could use the winger to help lure Kroupi to Manchester.
The Ghanian international has already won silverware since swapping clubs in January, so he knows how beneficial a move up north can be.
If Kroupi were to be completely persuaded that Man City are the right team to further his career, the Cherries would have less leverage during negotiations.
This could ultimately help to bring down the club’s extraordinary asking price, helping the Citizens to land a fair deal.
