Pep Guardiola has named his Manchester City matchday squad, on a night which could see them move top of the Premier League table.

Tonight’s stakes could not possibly be higher. Manchester City have the chance to leapfrog Arsenal, with three points being all that is required.

The Citizens got the better of Mikel Arteta’s team on Sunday, continuing a fine run of domestic form which began with a Carabao Cup final triumph, also against the Gunners.

And now, City are looking to claim another victory which would very much be causing panic on the streets of North London.

Pep Guardiola makes one change to Man City’s starting XI

Gianluigi Donnarumma has kept his spot in the starting line-up tonight, despite making an error which led to a goal last weekend.

There is one change to report across the backline, as Rayan Ait-Nouri will start. This enable Nico O’Reilly to move into midfield, as he steps in for the injured Rodri.

In attack, Erling Haaland will be looking to get on the scoresheet again, while the Sky Blues will look to Rayan Cherki for inspiration, and maybe even the occasional moment of magic.

City would be top of the Premier League with a win

Man City currently trail Arsenal on goal difference, but one goal was make the teams even. Since Guardiola’s side have scored more, they would move into first place with a victory, regardless of the scoreline.

Arsenal would have the chance to reclaim the top spot on Saturday, as they face a Newcastle team on a run of dismal form. Still, City would have a game-in-hand again.

After tonight, Manchester City only have two away matches remaining, which are against Everton and Bournemouth respectively.
