- Man City beat Arsenal on Sunday
- Still trail in league table by three points
- Could be rectified with game-in-hand
Manchester City are now well and truly favourites for the Premier League title, but one pundit still has confidence in Arsenal.
Arsenal could have placed themselves in a very promising position with a win at the Etihad Stadium. However, it was Manchester City who took all three points.
The Citizens did concede some chances, but did just about enough to place themselves within three points of the Gunners.
This has shifted the narrative in the Premier League, with Man City now widely viewed as the most likely team to win the title.
Pundits back Man City to win Premier League
After Sunday’s game, the Sky Sports panel were asked about what colour they expected the ribbons on the Premier League trophy to be at the end of the season.
Despite differences in opinion before the match, there was a general consensus that it would be Man City lifting the trophy on May 24.

“Man City won today. They’re going to be blue,” Micah Richards said.
Patrick Vieira added: “Listen, there’s still 15 points on the table, but if I have to answer the question, I will say they will have to blue.”
Gary Neville was next to offer his verdict, and he revealed that he was backing City to win the Premier League, having previously predicted a title triumph for Arsenal.
“For the first time this season, I’m going to say they’re probably going to be blue,” said the ex-United defender.
Roy Keane does not agree
Finally, it was Roy Keane’s turn to offer his verdict and the Irishman made it clear he was not bothered about which team wins the Premier League.
Having played for Manchester United and grown up supporting Tottenham Hotspur, Keane has absolutely no affection for either team.
However, he made the decision to keep backing the Gunners, despite the fact City are in such good form.
“I don’t care,” Keane said. “I’m going to have to stick with Arsenal.”
Man City have all the momentum
There has been a lot of talk about Man City have tougher remaining fixtures than Arsenal in the Premier League.
However, it is hard to say Mikel Arteta’s team will find anything easy, considering they have lost four domestic matches in a row.
Man City on the other hand are on fire, recently defeating the Premier League leaders twice and thrashing both Chelsea and Liverpool.
City’s next fixture is against Burnley and this ought to be a straightforward victory which puts them level on points with Arsenal.
With the Sky Blues continually getting better and Arsenal still on a downward slope, the Premier League certainly looks like it may well be heading back to the Etihad Stadium.
