- Man City vs Arsenal
- 16:30
- Etihad Stadium
Pep Guardiola has confirmed his squad against Arsenal as the Citizens face a possible title-decider game this afternoon.
After thrashing Chelsea 3-0 at Stamford Bridge, the Sky Blues are back in Premier League action. City welcome the Gunners at the Etihad in one of the most important end-of-season fixtures for both sides.
Arsenal, on the other hand, are coming back after a draw at the Emirates against Sporting Lisbon in the Champions League quarter-final.
A goal in their previous outing meant that Arteta’s men will be moving to the semi-final stage of the competition.
The Citizens have rested throughout the week, while the Gunners will be grumpy following a mid-week fixture and away travel.
Both teams seek glory as they aim for the title, and with the game just around the corner, Pep Guardiola has named his XI who’ll bring him closer to the title this afternoon.
No changes in Man City’s starting XI
With all the players from the Chelsea clash fit and fine, Guardiola has decided to make no changes to the starting XI against Arsenal.
However, John Stones is back from injury, and he made the squad this afternoon. Hence, Mateo Kovacic was dropped so that the Citizens have extras for the back four.
Nevertheless, maintaining the same XI is a surprising choice for the Catalan manager, who is known for making unconventional decisions before important clashes.
However, this time Guardiola has gone the conservative way and is just going with what is working at the moment.
