- Man City bid for young Brazilian
- Plan to immediately loan him out
- Could raid Palmeiras this summer
Manchester City have made an offer to sign a striker who could be integrated into the first-team a few years down the line.
It is a well-documented fact that Manchester City have identified talents at Brazilian club Palmeiras in the past.
Gabriel Jesus was brought to the Etihad Stadium from the South American outfit, and Vitor Reis became another player to make this exact move in January last year.
Once again, there could be another player switching Palmeiras for Pep Guardiola’s team because Man City have been linked with Eduardo Conceicao.
Man City make bid to sign Heittor Vinicius
According to Globo Esporte, Manchester City have made a move to sign a teenage talent from Palmeiras, but Conceicao is not the player in question.
Instead, it is Heittor Vinicius who the Carabao Cup winners are looking to get signed up once the summer transfer window opens.
The Citizens have offered a £17.4m transfer fee, which is likely to at least come close to the figure Palmeiras are looking for. In fact, it could be enough to seal the deal.
Vinicius would be loaned out to Girona
Like Reis, Vinicius is expected to be sent to Girona in order to aid his development before he makes the leap up to Man City.
Of course, the La Liga club are owned by the City Group, which makes the process of agreeing loan terms rather straightforward.
Still, a deal must be agreed with Palmeiras first and West Ham United are also interested in the 18-year-old.
Vinicius is a long way off the Man City first-team
With nine goals in 23 appearances in the Brazilian under-20s league, Vinicius is not going to be a first-team starter at City any time soon.
Even now, it feels like a move to a top flight team in Spain would be a big step up and one which he might not yet be ready for.
However, there must be belief that the centre forward has the ability to become someone who could take the baton from Erling Haaland in a few years’ time.
Vinicius is quick, strong and a good finisher and he will only grow into a more accomplished player once he arrives in Europe.
