  • City supporter mocked Arsenal at Stamford Bridge
  • TV clip quickly gained traction across social media
  • New claim adds further intrigue to the moment

One viral Manchester City fan has revealed what he plans next, after he made fun of Arsenal in a moment which was picked up by the matchday camera crew.

Man City’s 3-0 thrashing of Chelsea produced some memorable moments, including some from the fans. With the Sky Blues chasing the Gunners in a title race, their supporters did not hold back from trolling their rivals.

This began with chants of “Are you watching Arsenal?” Of course, it is Mikel Arteta’s team who have to travel to the Etihad Stadium this coming Sunday.

However, another moment also gained traction where a Man City fan Tal Rehman was filmed drinking from an Arsenal bottle, which is a clear dig at the North London club for always blowing their lead. Now, he has an intriguing update after his antics during the game.

Man City fan has a secret message

Rehman did not expect to go viral in that fashion after the cameramen filmed him against Chelsea. In fact, he has never experienced a moment like this during his three decades as a season ticket holder.

Speaking to The Sun, the Stockport native explained how he got the bottle in the first place, while claiming there is a hidden message inside.

“I got the bottle last year from the Arsenal physios. We sit near the away team at City’s stadium. My son said he was thirsty, so I just asked the physio if there was any chance of a bottle of water”, Rehman said.

“So they gave us a bottle, and we kept it. Only I know what is written on it,” he revealed while talking about the secret message he has inside the bottle.

Rehman might reveal the secret message after City’s game against Arsenal this Sunday.

Rehman gets a job offer after viral moment

The City fan is a father of three and works as a taxi driver, but his occupation could soon change. After going viral on the internet, Rehman received a marketing offer and has also claimed to have received 900 messages after the incident.

“I’ve had over 900 messages. Some soft drinks company has tried to get hold of me to do some marketing for them”, he added.

Man City welcome Arsenal to the Etihad this Sunday in a title decider game. Fans will be awaiting a positive result and also the secret message that Rehman has for the Citizens.

The interpretation of the message

What Rehman did was not accidental. ‘Bottling’ has a very specific meaning amongst the football fandom, which signifies choking under pressure.

After Arsenal’s loss against Bournemouth, fans are speculating that this might be another season of last-minute pressure getting the better of the Gunners.

Last season, the Londoners lost only four games, but ended the season with 14 draws. They lost 21 points from winning positions.

In the end, Liverpool got the better of them and won the 2024/25 Premier League title. This season, the Gunners have again managed only four losses.

With six games to go, Mikel Arteta’s side still have the chance to win the league this season. However, only time will tell if they end up bottling the title all over again.
