- EA Sports FC TOTS celebrates the best performers throughout the campaign.
- Five Manchester City players have been nominated.
- The final team selection is still to take place
Five Manchester City stars have been nominated for EA Sports FC’s Premier League Team of the Season, making them the second-most represented club on the shortlist.
With the season drawing to a close, EA Sports FC have released the shortlist of 30 players nominated for the popular video game’s Premier League team of the season.
Players from nine different clubs have been nominated, with five Man City players up for the prestigious award. Only league leaders Arsenal boast more representatives, with six.
Such recognition is a testament to the superb performances of those City individuals, and the team’s improvement in the second half of the season.
Five Manchester City stars make EA Sports FC TOTS shortlist
With five players represented, Manchester City stars account for 17 per cent of the total nominees. Erling Haaland, Gianluigi Donnarumma, Marc Guehi, Rayan Cherki and Antoine Semenyo have all excelled this season and have been acknowledged for their sublime performances across the campaign.

Given that four of the five City stars nominated only arrived at the club this season, the club’s transfer business has proven to be really effective over the past 12 months.
Cherki and Donnarumma joined last summer and immediately made an impact. Also, Semenyo and Guehi’s January signings have helped propel City to Carabao Cup glory, while also making their way back into the Premier League title race.
Meanwhile, Haaland has recently reminded everyone exactly why he deserves to be nominated, with his hat-trick in last weekend’s 4-0 FA Cup victory against Liverpool. This is the kind of form he has shown for much of the season in the Premier League, with the Norwegian banging in 22 goals this season.
Nico O’Reilly and Matheus Nunes are unlucky to miss out
While those Man City players nominated are more than deserving of such recognition, others can feel a little hard done by.
Both Nico O’Reilly and Matheus Nunes have also been standout performers this season. The pair have been pivotal to some of City’s best performances this season, with O’Reilly’s scoring twice in last month’s Carbao Cup final.
Each player will no doubt be more interested in helping the Citizens win the Premier League title, but neither would have been out of place had they been nominated.
