- Erling Haaland scored a hat-trick against Liverpool
- His goals helped Man City reach the FA Cup semi-finals
- The striker is still demanding more from his team
Erling Haaland has delivered a determined message to his teammates after a superb display against Liverpool in the FA Cup.
Manchester City were absolutely sensational on Saturday afternoon, putting Liverpool to the sword at the Etihad Stadium.
It was a special team performance and Erling Haaland was particularly good, bagging a hat-trick.
The victory has put the Citizens just two victories away from winning a second trophy this season, and the Premier League is not a lost cause yet.
Erling Haaland says Man City have not been good enough
Despite Man City’s impressive thrashing of Liverpool, Haaland has been disappointed with his team’s overall season.
However, Man City are still competing for trophies, so the 25-year-old is focused on righting these wrongs in the coming weeks.
“I think it’s been a bit too much up and down [Man City’s season], which is not good enough,” Haaland told TNT Sports.
“Again, I cannot keep thinking about what I could’ve done differently or what didn’t happen or what happened, I have to think about the next game.
“And the reality is now for us is a long week now because we’re not in the Champions League which is not good enough,” he continued.
“But again, we won today, and now we have to start focusing on Chelsea because it’s a massive game again.”
Man City could still have an exceptional season
Haaland has highlighted Man City’s inconsistency, but going straight from a Carabao Cup final win to thrashing Liverpool could be the start of a good run.
Pep Guardiola’s side have looked much better and at the perfect time too. After all, a few more wins could see them lift the FA Cup and continue to challenge for the Premier League.
Plus, with Haaland back at his best, City have the look of a team who really know how to hurt their opposition.
Right now, all eyes will be on the Chelsea game as they look to win for a third successive fixture.
