Erling Haaland has reportedly handed in his transfer request at Manchester City, but this all seems a bit far-fetched.
So apparently, Erling Haaland has decided seemingly overnight that he no longer wants to be a Manchester City player.
Football 365 have reported that the striker is ‘deeply disappointed with the project’ at Man City and he has changed his mind on definitely staying for another year.
Haaland is also said to be frustrated that City might not win a trophy this season, while in other news, Pep Guardiola has decided to leave the club this summer.
Another claim is that the Norwegian has asked Man City to negotiate with Barcelona, as he wants to play in La Liga some day.
Erling Haaland’s desire to leave Man City is nothing but speculation
Rather than citing a specific source, Football 365 claimed ‘reports in Spain’ are what have revealed Haaland’s desires.
Ultimately, it has all come a bit out of nowhere and honestly, it sounds like something which has been made up.
Haaland had a few underwhelming performances before Man City’s second leg against Real Madrid, but he has not shown any signs of being unhappy at the Etihad Stadium.
Then there is Guardiola, who has not confirmed whether he will stay or leave in the summer. If anything, the manager sounds like he wants to see out his contract, based on the way he has been talking, which is contrary to the new claims.
Man City can still win silverware this season
Haaland is supposedly concerned about not winning a trophy, but this is a strange detail to emerge just days before Man City compete in the Carabao Cup final.
The player’s agent has already played down a potential move to Barcelona, so there is no evidence to suggest he wants a move to Spotify Camp Nou.
Anyone who pays attention to Man City can see that an exciting project is underway, but it will take time to build.
These rumours about Haaland might have elements of truth in them – it is too early to say. However, it sounds like some of the information has been plucked from thin air.
