Kylian Mbappe returns to Real Madrid training ahead of Manchester City trip

Manchester City already need a big result against Real Madrid and their task could be about to get even harder.

There were two reasons Manchester City were expected to defeat Real Madrid last week in the Champions League.

The first was that Real Madrid’s form was poor ahead of the game, but another factor to consider was their long list of players out injured.

Star players such as Kylian Mbappe and Jude Bellingham missed the first leg tie against Man City and yet Real Madrid still won it with ease.

Los Blancos will be looking to finish the job on Tuesday and this feels even more likely due to the latest news about Mbappe.

Kylian Mbappe could be fit to face Manchester City

According to L’equipe, Mbappe trained with Real Madrid on Sunday, despite missing out on their 4-1 victory over Elche the previous day.

This could mean the French striker is fit again and Spanish journalist Rodra has confirmed that he is set to travel to Manchester.

However, it is not all good news for Real Madrid, as Raul Asencio will miss the second leg against Man City. Last Wednesday, the defender was an unused substitute.

Man City have to be strong in defence

Scoring three goals against Real Madrid is no easy feat and any goal conceded means Man City are required to find the net even more times.

There is no guarantee Mbappe will start, but he could be brought off the bench and Pep Guardiola will know just how much of a threat the star can pose.

Man City’s defending has to be absolutely on point, or else the chances of making a comeback move from unlikely to being pretty much impossible.
