Manchester City are still competing on four fronts, but this might not be the case for too much longer.
Disappointment in the Champions League has been followed by even more in the Premier League for Manchester City.
Recently, Pep Guardiola’s team have failed to beat the clubs who sat 17th and 18th in the English top flight and they were thrashed 3-0 by Real Madrid.
However, Man City are still in two domestic cups and there is perhaps still a tiny glimmer of hope regarding the other tournaments.
The question is, which one do Man City have the best chance of winning? Well, let’s break it down!
Man City are unlikely to win the Premier League
When the gap between Arsenal and Man City was a matter of five points, there was still a very good chance of a Premier League title. This was especially true with the Citizens having a game in hand.
The Gunners have still played an additional game, but a nine-point difference is probably too big a deficit to recover.
City have not been good enough recently and even if they were to improve and defeat Arsenal in April, the advantage would still be with Mikel Arteta’s team.
Winning the league is not an impossible task for Man City, but it feels like that chance has been and gone now.
Chances of a Man City triumph: 3/10
The Champions League situation is even more somber
If the Premier League looks bad, just take a look at how Man City are faring in the Champions League.
Finishing in the top eight may have allowed the Sky Blues to skip the play-off round, but it has not helped them out in the last 16.
Real Madrid absolutely ripped Man City to shreds, so much so that a second leg comeback would be not merely a shock, but an absolute miracle.
Even if City do make it through, there are still an additional two rounds before the Champions League final, so winning the competition is pretty much a pipedream.
Chances of a Man City triumph: 2/10
Man City are doing well in the FA Cup
Defeating Exeter and Salford City was never going to be that difficult, but a much changed Man City team showed a lot of heart to beat Newcastle in the fifth round.
Next up, Liverpool will travel to the Etihad Stadium and this should work in the favour of Guardiola and his team, considering they have defeated the Reds twice this season.
This is a trophy which has seen City go all the way to the final three years in a row, but the past two have ended badly.
Man City will be keen to change that this year, but there are still some strong teams left in the competition, including Arsenal.
Chances of a Man City triumph: 6/10
Arsenal are the only team who can stop Man City from winning the Carabao Cup
It feels inevitable that Man City’s upcoming cup final with Arsenal will be a close game and if it goes to extra time, that will not be at all surprising.
Arsenal may be the team in better form, but they are not exactly coasting to victories at this moment in time.
Ultimately, this is a trophy which either team might win and it just depends how they perform on the day of the game.
Chances of a Man City success: 7/10
