Shocking details emerge about Manchester City’s dressing room atmosphere after Real Madrid defeat

Manchester City were recently humbled in the Champions League, leading to a shocking response from the away dressing room.

Right now, Manchester City’s attention will be on claiming a victory on Saturday, but it will be hard for them not to think about what happened in Madrid.

Real Madrid stormed to a 3-0 victory at the Bernabeu and the visitors only really had one clear-cut chance all game.

Man City looked a bit subdued on the pitch and apparently this did not stop once they headed back to the dressing room.

Manchester City’s players sat in silence

According to the Daily Mail, the morale was so low in the Man City dressing room that Pep Guardiola’s team sat there without saying a word after the game.

Some players could not even find the motivation to shower before they boarded the coach much later than usual.

Even then, they were still silent and clearly in shock about the events of the night which had seen them blown away by Los Blancos.

This says a lot about Man City’s pre-match mentality

It seems Man City’s players were absolutely shocked by what happened on Wednesday, as if they never expected something like that could happen to them.

The away team were the favourites going into the tie and perhaps some members of the squad allowed this to go to their heads.

However, such attitudes came back to bite them, as Real Madrid did what they so often do in the Champions League.

Whatever happens, Man City must ensure there is no complacency or pre-judgement of their opponent next week. They need to expect a difficult game against a top team and adjust accordingly.
