Manchester City have received both good and bad news about Real Madrid’s injury list ahead of their Champions League last 16 second leg.
Pep Guardiola’s main focus at this point in time will be preparing his players for an important Premier League fixture against West Ham.
However, his attention will quickly turn to the Champions League, as Manchester City look to make a dramatic comeback against Real Madrid.
Despite the Spanish team’s injury problems, they thrashed Man City at the Bernabeu. This means that some of their previously sidelined players now becoming available is very bad news indeed for Guardiola
Real Madrid receive injury boosts ahead of Man City rematch
According to Mario Cortegana, Kylian Mbappe, David Alaba and Alvaro Carreras all have a chance of being fit for Real Madrid’s second leg against Man City.
Also, Aurelien Tchouameni has not picked up an injury, after he received treatment during the first leg following a blow to his ankle.
Despite this, Jude Bellingham is still not expected to feature against Man City next week and has been ruled out after picking up an injury.
Alvaro Arebola may not look to change too much at the Etihad Stadium
Man City were well and truly outclassed by Real Madrid and Alvaro Arebola may look to that same team to get the job done on Tuesday.
Players like Mbappe may be world class talents on their day, but there is an element of risk playing them in such a big game when they have only just returned to the squad.
Instead, Arebola might name a side similar to the one who faced City earlier this week, as they have already got the better of Guardiola’s men once already.
