Bernardo Silva makes decision on his Manchester City future

Bernardo Silva’s Manchester City contract expires in the summer and it seems the club captain has decided on whether he wishes to sign a new contract.

It has been unclear what the future holds for Bernardo Silva, with the Portugese star’s contract rapidly running down by the month.

Silva has received interest from Atletico Madrid and clubs from the Saudi Pro League, while there have also been reports about a possible MLS move for the attacking midfielder.

However, Silva is yet to confirm whether he will stay or leave, so there has been continued hope that he might put pen to paper and sign a new deal at Manchester City.

Bernardo Silva is set to leave Man City

Despite the fact there has been no word from Silva, Matteo Moretto has reported that Silva is expected to depart Man City in June as a free agent.

There are no ongoing negotiations between Silva and his club to extend his stay at the Etihad Stadium, which makes a move away the most likely option.

This would see the player’s nine-year stay in Manchester come to an end, leaving a gap in Pep Guardiola’s team which will not be easy to fill.

Silva has options from all across the world

There is nothing Silva has failed to achieve at Manchester City. From the Champions League, to the Premier League, the 31-year-old has won everything on offer.

Therefore, he could be looking for a new challenge and it is of course possible that this will be outside Europe.

However, there will be plenty of teams from across the continent who will have eyes on Silva. Ultimately he has a wide range of options to choose from and that is a reflection of how outstanding he has been for Man City.
