Three Manchester City players nominated for February Premier League awards

Manchester City have three players up for Premier League awards after a month which saw the club record four victories.

February was a good month for Manchester City, both in the Premier League and domestic cup competitions.

The Sky Blues advanced to the Carabao Cup final, qualified for the fifth round of the FA Cup and closed the gap on Arsenal in the league.

There were some standout players helping City to achieve these important results and they could be recognised in the Premier League’s February awards.

Nico O’Reilly and Erling Haaland could be named player of the month

Both Nico O’Reilly and Erling Haaland have been nominated for the Premier League player of the month award.

O’Reilly stepped into the spotlight for his team, more than doubling his goalscoring tally after finding the net against Fulham and twice scoring in the victory over Newcastle.

Haaland was also a major attacking threat, registering two goals and three assists during the month of February. What makes this even more impressive is that the Norwegian missed the game against Leeds due to an injury.

Gialuigi Donnarumma nominated for save of the month

As well as O’Reilly and Haaland, Gianluigi Donnarumma is also in contention to win a Premier League award.

The goalkeeper is up for save of the month for his brilliant diving stop at Anfield, which helped Man City conquer Liverpool.

Donnarumma was exceptional all throughout the month and also made an important save in the closing stages of his team’s win against Newcastle.

This means Man City could have three figures winning Premier League awards this month, as Pep Guardiola is up for manager of the month too.
