Nottingham Forest are looking to cause an upset at the Etihad Stadium, but Chris Sutton is worried by their new manager’s record in the Premier League.
Manchester City host Nottingham Forest tonight in a game which sees both teams desperately in need of points.
The hosts require every win they can get to keep asking questions of Arsenal, while Forest are only two points clear of the relegation zone.
City are definitely the favourites going into this one and Chris Sutton is even more confident Pep Guardiola’s team will win, because of Nottingham Forest’s manager.
Chris Sutton has doubts about Vitor Pereira
Ahead of Manchester City’s showdown with Nottingham Forest, Sutton has been heavily critical of the visitors for constantly changing managers.
The pundit is clearly not impressed by their latest appointment Vitor Pereira, not only due to his start at Forest, but how poorly he began the season when he was the Wolves manager.
Sutton told BBC Sport: “Nottingham Forest boss Vitor Pereira was brought in to keep them up but he has a zero per cent winning ratio in the Premier League this season after 10 games in charge of Wolves and now two defeats with Forest.
“It’s hard to see that changing at Etihad Stadium – City are going to win comfortably, whether or not Erling Haaland is back from injury to lead their attack.
“Pereira was moaning about the way Forest pressed in their defeat by Brighton at the weekend, but if you keep bringing in different managers and changing the way you play, then it is going to end up biting you on the backside.”
Sutton’s prediction: Manchester City 2-0 Nottingham Forest
Man City will have one eye on the Amex
First and foremost, Man City’s priority will be to defeat Nottingham Forest, but there is another important fixture taking place on the South Coast.
Arsenal have travelled to Brighton and if the hosts can get a result, this would be a huge positive for City.
However, with FA Cup ties taking place this weekend, Man City would not have the opportunity to rise above Arsenal in the league for another week and a half.
