Fotmob names unlikely Manchester City player as man of the match after Leeds victory

Antoine Semenyo was the match winner for Manchester City on Saturday, but Fotmob has given special recognition to another player whose contributions did not go unnoticed.

Manchester City’s victory over Leeds United was anything but straightforward. In fact, the hosts had some good chances to take the lead in the first half.

However, it was City who broke the deadlock when Antoine Semenyo got on the end of a fine drilled cross sent into the box by Rayan Ait-Nouri.

Semenyo will be given the plaudits for Man City’s only goal of the game, but Ait-Nouri was involved in the build-up and delivered a very strong performance.

Fotmob names Rayan Ait-Nouri as Manchester City’s star player

Most of Man City’s players were awarded a positive rating by Fotmob after their Elland Road triumph, with only Nico O;’Reilly and Omar Marmoush scoring below seven.

Semenyo was handed an 8.2 rating and Ruben Dias scored even higher with an impressive 8.4 figure.

However, Ait-Nouri was the top performer with an 8.6 match rating after he provided attacking support on the left flank and maintained a clean sheet.

Ait-Nouri won all his duels against Leeds

It is fair to say that Ait-Nouri was outstanding on Saturday evening when viewing his performance more closely.

The defender won every single one of his 11 ground duels and he completed all six of his dribbles successfully.

With 77 touches across the 90 minutes, Ait-Nouri had quite the impact on the game and he will be looking to keep up that level to keep pushing Man City closer to the Premier League title.
