FC26 have released their 23-player team of the week and one Manchester City player has earned his place after a stunning performance against Newcastle.
Manchester City’s most recent Premier League performance got people talking because they did enough to secure a victory, but that was where the positives stopped.
There were moments when the decision-making was poor in the final third and failing to put the game to bed almost allowed Newcastle to steal a point at the very end.
However, the hosts did manage to hold on to their 2-1 lead and one player in particular stood out for his heroics.
Nico O’Reilly named in FC26 team of the week
Nico O’Reilly was the player who made the difference for Manchester City, as he scored twice in the first half.
Nick Pope’s goalkeeping for the 20 year old’s first strike should have been better, but that does not take away from the fact it was a very good effort.
The second was a well directed header and there was no way the Newcastle shot-stopper had any chance of making a save.

As a result of O’Reilly’s brilliance, he has been named in the FC26 team of the week with an overall rating of 84.
O’Reilly will be important to Man City
Playing well is one thing, but actively changing a team’s fortunes is something else and that is what O’Reilly did against Newcastle.
There is no question that Man City were the better side on the night, but without O’Reilly, there is no guarantee the home team would have won the match.
If O’Reilly can build on this display and continue having the same impact, he could be a very important player to Pep Guardiola between now and the end of the season.
