Rayan Ait-Nouri has revealed something interesting about what it was like to become a part of the Manchester City squad for the first time.
Rayan Ait-Nouri was already used to life as a Premier League player, but he knew making the step up to Manchester City would be the biggest of his career.
Wolverhampton Wanderers are a good club in their own right, but there is something different about the culture at Man City. Winning is not an aspiration, it is a requirement and a season without silverware is no season at all.
Ait-Nouri has not had the easiest of starts, having suffered an injury which kept him out for multiple weeks. However, the Algerian is working hard and he is enjoying his time at the Etihad Stadium.
Rayan Ait-Nouri heaps praise on Manchester City
From the friendliness of his fellow teammates, to the club’s lofty standards, Ait-Nouri has been left impressed by the club he began to call his own last summer.
The left-back was able to gather insight about City from his international teammate Riyad Mahrez and the overall experience so far has not disappointed.
“It’s been very good. I’m very happy to be here and to train every day with this manager,” Ait-Nouri told Man City.
“Training with these players too is very good. I’m happy. It’s different. It’s another level. There is more pressure. It’s a very good dressing room.
“I remember I spoke to Riyad Mahrez before I came, and he said the guys are incredible. When I came, everyone was welcoming and it was very important for me.”
Ait-Nouri added: “Every day, you learn a lot. It’s a pleasure to work with him and his staff – Kolo Toure and Pep Lijnders,” said Ait-Nouri.
“We try to give our best every day to push our limit. It’s very good to train with them every day and I feel I have improved a lot of aspects of my game.”
Ait-Nouri offers determined message
Ait-Nouri started Man City’s most recent fixture which ended in a 2-1 victory over Newcastle and he is looking to continue doing his bit as he dreams about the possibility of a league title.
The 24-year-old is not expecting things to get easy any time soon, but he has outlined what City must do in order to win the Premier League.
He added: “I have been in the Premier League for six years now and each game is very hard,” he reflected.
“The league is very tough, each game is difficult. We need to win every game, we play football for that. We need to keep going.
“We try to be focused on ourselves. We will see what happens, but we will fight until the end and give everything – that is the most important thing.”
