“I could not care less” Pep Guardiola rebukes journalists for repetitive questions

Pep Guardiola has been speaking to the media ahead of Manchester City’s Premier League meeting with Newcastle and he has been left unimpressed with their line of questioning.

Manchester City are in a promising position in the Premier League table. What was once a nine-point gap between themselves and Arsenal could be reduced to two if they can secure a victory over Newcastle United.

This would give the Gunners plenty to think about ahead of their next fixture, which is none other than a North London derby against Tottenham Hotspur.

It is hard not to look at the bigger picture right now, but Pep Guardiola is insisting he is not interested in jumping the gun.

Pep Guardiola slams journalist

In his most recent press conference, Guardiola has been asked about his confidence in City for the remainder of the season, but he is only focused on taking one game at a time.

The manager has gone as far as claiming that he does not care about the Premier League table and is only focused on getting a result on Saturday.

Guardiola said: “12 games is a lot. It is Newcastle who is my only concern. Now it is them and then it is Leeds. You anticipate what is going to happen as a journalist. I don’t know what is going to happen.

“I didn’t speak one second about the table, the positions. I could not care less. You have asked me the same question four times.”

Guardiola is right not to get ahead of himself

If there is anyone who knows how to approach a game of football when the pressure is on, it is Pep Guardiola.

This is a man who has won silverware time and time again and if he is not interested in looking ahead, he must have a good reason.

Arsenal are clearly feeling the pressure of another Premier League title race and it is clear Guardiola is looking to avoid his team suffering the same fate. Right now, beating Newcastle is the only thing that matters.
