Manchester City plot summer transfer swoop for England international

Manchester City are eyeing a summer transfer involving a player who has made three appearances for the England national team.

It has been less than a month since the mid-season transfer window slammed shut, but rumours are already beginning to swirl again ahead of the summer.

Manchester City had a very productive January, bringing two exceptional players to the club in Marc Guehi and Antoine Semenyo.

The supporters will be hoping for more of the same in a few months’ time and it seems one transfer target has already been identified.

Manchester City want to sign Tino Livramento

According to talkSPORT, Man City are ready to make a strong push for Newcastle United full-back Tino Livramento.

The England star has been on the club’s radar for several months and there are hopes he will choose to switch St James’ Park for the Etihad Stadium this summer.

Newcastle’s plan is to tie Livramento down to a new contract, but he is reportedly in no rush to re-commit his future to Eddie Howe’s team.

There is no word on a potential transfer fee as of yet, but the Magpies will be expected to demand more than the £40m they spent on the 23-year-old back in 2023.

Livramento could be a regular starter at Man City

Matheus Nunes has been called on to play as a right-back for Man City, even though playing as a midfielder is more natural to him.

Ultimately, City’s options have been limited since Kyle Walker’s departure and this summer could be the perfect time to bring in a new right sided defender.

Livramento is a promising talent who is still in the earlier stages of his career and he could end up having a key role if he were to accept a move to Manchester.
