Manchester City are currently four points behind Arsenal in the Premier League, but this might not be the case for much longer.
The race for the Premier League title grows in intensity with each passing week and Manchester City are in a promising position.
Arsenal did have a six point lead at the top of the table, but this was reduced after their 1-1 draw with Brentford last Thursday.
Pep Guardiola’s men will have been licking their lips after seeing their title rivals stumble and things could be about to get even better.
Manchester City have more favourable Premier League fixtures
Fantasy Premier League has a fixture difficulty rating mechanism which ranks how hard a team’s upcoming games are based on their previous six matches.
According to this system, Manchester City have an easier run of fixtures between now and the end of the season compared with Mikel Arteta’s side.
City still have clashes against the Premier League bottom four and this plays a key factor to their overall FDR of 2.89, which is quite favourable.
Arsenal on the other hand have a fair few games where the level of difficulty is deemed moderate, but only two matches which should be fairly easy. This gives them an FDR of 3.0, handing the Sky Blues a real advantage.
Manchester City’s clash with Arsenal could decide the Premier League title
It will be interesting to see how the Premier League table is looking by game week 33, which is when Man City will take on Arsenal for the first time since the upcoming Carabao Cup final.
Should the two teams be close on points, that could ultimately be the fixture which decides the title, as both sides have very winnable games after that.
Right now, every single match matters and City must do everything they can to keep getting results in case Arsenal slip up, as they so often do at this point in the season.
