One of the many things that has been impressive about Man City this season is their attitude towards the cup competitions. Yes, they have a large and very talented squad in order to compete on all fronts, but Pep Guardiola has shown that momentum is very key in order to perform at the best level in the title race.
This was proven when Man City were coming off the back of losing to Palace and Leicester in the league, to then beat Liverpool and keep the momentum going by thrashing Rotherham 7-0 at home.
This next game is not going to be an easy challenge, even Michael Flynn has come out and said that it would be the ‘greatest giant-killings of them all’ if Newport are able to topple City on Saturday night. Therefore, they will be raring to go.
The pitch will be horrendous, the atmosphere will be immense and Newport will play the game of their lives.
