Manchester City target Ruben Neves wanted by Juventus

Juventus have joined Manchester City in the race to sign Ruben Neves from Wolverhampton Wanderers, according to a report from Calciomercato.

The Portugal international dazzled in central midfield for Wolves last season as they secured promotion to the Premier League and has continued in a similar vein of form, flourishing in the top-flight.

Neves was linked with a host of prestigious clubs across Europe in the summer transfer window but Wolves were able to retain their star man’s services.

However, interest appears to be building regarding a transfer involving Neves ahead of the January transfer window, with Juventus the latest club to have allegedly expressed an interest.

Neves is believed to work alongside Portuguese super-agent Jorge Mendes, and Calciomercato have claimed that with the Serie A champions keen to negotiate more regularly with the representative, a move for the midfielder has emerged as a genuine possibility.

Manchester City and Manchester United have both been heavily linked with respective swoops for Neves, however, and a race for the midfielder’s signature appears to be developing.
