Manchester City goalkeeper Claudio Bravo has reportedly been dealt a cruel injury blow.
According to claims from Diario Sport’s Manchester-based correspondent Pol Ballus, the Chilean goalkeeper sustained a serious injury in training with his side on Monday.

Ballus claims that Bravo’s injury could even keep him out for the duration of the 2018/19 season, leaving City without a recognised backup goalkeeper.

Ederson Moraes is the undisputed first-choice shot-stopper for Pep Guardiola at the Etihad Stadium but Bravo is perennially utilised in cup competitions, meaning that the news of his injury will come as a serious blow.
Manchester City also sold promising England Under-21 international Angus Gunn to Southampton in the summer, with the news of Bravo’s injury now leaving them short of senior goalkeeping options.
The extent and diagnosis of Bravo’s injury have not yet been confirmed, but El Chiringuito TV reporter Jose Alvarez Haya indicates that the goalkeeper has sustained a severe blow to his Achilles tendon.
