Manchester City could be set to agree the £43million transfer of Jorginho from Napoli within the next 24 hours, the Mirror reports.

City have been heavily linked with the player in recent weeks and Napoli’s sporting director Cristiano Giuntoli and Jorginho’s representative Joao Santos have now flown over to England to close the deal.

Santos is quoted by the Mirror as having said:

I’m in England, specifically Colchester, 400km from Manchester.

The negotiations are in the hands of Napoli. I’m waiting for a signal to understand what to do.

This week something will happen. Until Friday, I will be in England.

There’s a possibility that City Midfielder Oleksandr Zinchenko could move the opposite way as part of the deal.

Jorginho is one of City’s top two transfer targets this summer alongside Leicester’s Riyad Mahrez.

City will hope to conclude both deals before the World Cup starts on June 14th.
