Inter Milan may launch a summer bid for Manchester City midfielder Ilkay Gundogan.
Reports from Corriere dello Sport suggest that Inter will make a move for the German if they qualify for the Champions League by beating Lazio on the final day of the Serie A season.
Lazio currently occupy Serie A’s final Champions League spot and are three points ahead of Inter Milan with a superior goal difference, however, a win for Inter would see them leapfrog Lazio on their head-to-head record.
With City Boss Pep Guardiola hoping to sign Napoli midfielder Jorginho this summer, Gundogan’s future at the club looks uncertain and he may look for a move away from the Etihad in order to get more regular football.
However reports from Italy suggest that Inter would only be able to mount an effort for Gundogan if they secure Champions League football for next season, as they would lack the funding without it.
