According to Radio MARCA, Sergio Aguero may be making a sensational return to Atletico Madrid this summer.
Aguero signed for Manchester City when he left Atletico back in 2011 and has gone on to become the club’s all-time leading goal scorer. He has helped City win three Premier League titles, three League Cups and a Community Shield.
Despite earning a place in the Team of the Year and scoring 21 league goals this season, Aguero’s future in Manchester has been in doubt for a while.
Atletico superstar Antoine Griezmann is likely to leave this summer and Atleti are eyeing a move for Aguero to replace him as their main striker, but MARCA understands the deal could still go ahead even if Griezmann doesn’t leave the club.
Both Atletico and Aguero’s representatives have decided to leave the negotiations until after the World Cup in Russia so the striker can focus on guiding Argentina to World Cup glory.
