The Brazilian international has ended all doubts over a new deal by signing a two-year extension at Manchester City. This is a vital signing for the Citizens in the January window as Fernandinho has been pivotal to Man City’s midfield during their amazing run towards the title.
Pep Guardiola didn’t need an invitation to praise the Brazilian dynamo, having previously calling him one of the best three midfielders in the world and suggested that he can play ten positions.

Man City are looking for someone who can replace the Brazilian long-term in the future when his new contract expires as the midfielder turns 33 in May.
Shakhtar Donetsk’s midfielder Fred comes to mind and he has been identified as a key target amongst the list of players that Guardiola is looking at.
Fernandinho signing a new deal follows on from Nicolas Otamendi, who committed his future to the club earlier in the week. The Argentine extended his contract through to 2022 following a standout season.
