Manchester City talisman Kevin De Bruyne wants to begin contract talks for a new deal, eyeing Neymar’s wage at PSG as a benchmark.
Arguably City’s most influential player this season, De Bruyne has seen his stock rise with masterful performances so far this season. De Bruyne has been a major part of Manchester City’s blistering start this season, particularly in the Premier League and Champions League campaigns.

Patrick De Koster, De Bruyne’s agent, is quoted as saying to Radio CRC in Italy:
In the coming months, I will meet with City to see how to improve and extend [De Bruyne’s] contract. His salary? I can’t say anything. But if you see what Neymar and Mbappe are being paid, you can imagine…
According to The Telegraph, De Bruyne currently earns £6m-a-year, which could rise as high as £15.6m-a-year. However, the report goes on to state that the highly rated midfielder wants to get close to the £32m Brazil superstar Neymar is paid by Paris Saint-Germain.
So far this season, De Bruyne, 26, has scored two goals and assisted seven times in all competitions this season. City’s next game sees them continuing their Premier League campaign at home against Burnley this Saturday.
