Manchester City are reportedly interested in signing Lorenzo Pellegrini from Roma.
The Italian international has been in good early-season form in Serie A, and has subsequently attracted the interest of both City and Manchester United, according to the Daily Mail.
Since his move from Sassuolo, Pellegrini has gone from strength to strength. He has established himself as one of Serie A’s most promising young talents, and has been consistently impressive at Roma.
Eusebio Di Francesco is a huge admirer of Pellegrini and will be keen to retain his services for the foreseeable future. However, with the youngster’s contract containing a release clause of just £22m, a move to the Premier League doesn’t appear to be beyond the realms of possibility.
Pellegrini is currently nursing a minor knock, which led to his withdrawal from the Italian national squad for this week’s international fixtures, but he’s sure to be a man in demand when the January transfer window rolls around.
