Manchester City’s £18m bid for West Brom centre back Jonny Evans has been rejected.
Talks between City and the Northern Ireland defender have been ongoing for the last few weeks and the Blues have now had two bids been turned down.
City have not been the only Premier League side interested in the defender with Leicester City bidding £10m earlier on in the window. That bid was also rejected.

The defender joined West Brom in 2015 from Manchester United and still has two years left on his contract.
Arsenal showed interest in Evans last year, but again, West Brom rejected their approach.
This move to sign Evans looks to be part of manager Pep Guardiola’s transfer plan as he has said he wants to buy another defender before the Summer transfer window closes.
It seems that fourth choice centre back, Eliaquim Mangala, is not part of the Spaniard’s future plans, however, the French defender has been linked with a move from the club since the start of the window.
