Reports in Spain are suggesting that Manchester City are keen to sign Real Sociedad centre-back Inigo Martinez this summer.
Pep Guardiola appears to still be keen on bolstering his defensive options and according to a report from Spanish news outlet Sport, as covered today by Sport Witness, it looks as though Martinez is a target.
City have already spent big this summer and are looking to have a quiet last month of the window. However, a move for Martinez could certainly be plausible, with Sociedad set to receive big offers for their star man.
However, if Guardiola is indeed keen to bring his compatriot to the Etihad Stadium in the near future, he’ll need to fend off some competition. It’s stated that Premier League rivals Everton are also keen, along with Italian giants Inter Milan.
Barcelona appear to have shown the most interest, with them having plenty to spend after the sale of Neymar.
