Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has set his sights on Benfica left-back Grimadlo.
According to a report from Spanish news outlet Diario Sport, the Spaniard is keen to bring the defender to the Etihad as he looks to remodel his team in the mould of how he wants to play.
Grimaldo failed to really push into Barcelona’s first team after impressing at youth level in their La Masia academy, but since moving over to Portugal he’s been in superb form for Benfica – and it hasn’t gone unnoticed.

Barca are claimed by Sport to have also shown interest in re-signing Grimaldo, but Guardiola is adamant that he is the man City should be signing.
The Sky Blues have been strongly linked with a move for Ryan Bertrand of Southampton after shelving their interest in AS Monaco left-back Benjamin Mendy, but it looks as though Grimaldo is a big target.
Benfica inserted a €60m buyout clause in Grimaldo’s contract when he signed, but would reportedly be willing to accept offers of €35m and above.
