According to Manchester Evening News, Manchester City are joint favourites to sign Manchester United defender Luke Shaw.
The England left-back has endured a rough season at Old Trafford, with United manager Jose Mourinho often insulting Shaw’s performances. His injury record has been terrible for the last couple of seasons, which hasn’t helped him progress at all.
Shaw had recently fought his way back into the United team, but has now been ruled out for the rest of the season with yet another injury, this time against Swansea City.
Reports from a number of newspapers say that City manager Pep Guardiola was interested in bringing in the 21-year-old as a replacement for Gael Clichy, with the Frenchman’s deal set to expire this summer.
Shaw showed promising signs at Southampton and established himself as one of the country’s brightest prospects, but he’ll now be looking to find his feet once again next season whether it be at Old Trafford or elsewhere.
