When Pep Guardiola arrived at the Etihad Stadium last summer, there was a certain sense of inevitability that followed.
It was inevitable that he would look to make his mark on English football, it was inevitable that he’d look to revitalise this City side and last of all, it was inevitable that the squad would undergo some major surgery.
Guardiola added several new players to his reinforcements in his maiden summer at the club, with some having had more impact on proceedings so far this season than others.
However, it’s looking as though he’ll be needing to replace a vital cog in City’s current setup, with Yaya Toure’s contract running down very quickly.
The Ivorian powerhouse’s deal at the Etihad is set to expire at the end of the season and that will mean that City will part ways with the former Barcelona man, unless they do choose to renew his deal.
