According to Calcio Mercato, Serie A side Napoli are set to challenge Manchester City for the signing of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
The forward was embroiled in controversy last night after he was omitted from Dortmund’s squad to face Sporting Lisbon in the Champions League.
It was later described by the club as an ‘internal issue’ with his future at the club becoming increasingly uncertain.
Napoli now look as though they want to take advantage of this with a bid to sign the forward in January.

Napoli are on the hunt for a striker after selling top goalscorer Gonzalo Higuain to Juventus in the summer.
Aubameyang has had a superb start to the season with Dortmund, scoring ten goals in just 12 matches in all competitions.
The 27-year-old also scored 39 goals last season for the German outfit, which has attracted the attentions of a number of top European clubs, including Manchester City.
