It dragged, it usually does, but the October international break has finally come to a close and we can get back to watching a team that matters.
Manchester City host an Everton side who have started the Premier League in great fashion. Guardiola goes into the game having dropped points at Celtic in the Champions League and being undone by Spurs for his first loss in England. The last time the Catalan failed to win in three consecutive games was back in April 2014 when his Bayern Munich side succumbed to a dominant Borussia Dortmund.
It will be a bit of 1990s nostalgia on Saturday since Ronald Koeman and Guardiola played together in that decorated Barcelona side that won multiple La Liga titles.
“He was one of the first central defenders with the quality not just to defend. I think Cruyff bought him to teach us why we needed a central defender like Ronald. He was one of the few guys who I never saw miss an important game,” Guardiola commented on the dutch star.
It’s an important game that City will need to come out victors in, here’s my predicted team for the match.
