After passing their most difficult test in the Manchester derby on Saturday, Manchester City face their first test in the Champions League group stage when they play Borussia Monchengladbach.
Andre Schubert’s side were also in City’s group in last season’s competition and caused City plenty of problems in both games.
Pep Guardiola has also had difficulty when coming against the Foals in his time at Bayern Munich – he has failed to win in his last four meetings with Monchengladbach.
However, as proved for large periods in the Manchester derby, Guardiola and City are a different proposition and clearly go into the game as the favourites.
City do have a couple of injury concerns for their Group C clash and that comes in central midfield. Fernando and Fabian Delph did not train yesterday, while Yaya Toure was not named in City’s Champions League squad and is therefore ineligible.
Will Sergio Aguero come straight back into the side? Will Ilkay Gundogan get his first appearance?
Here is our Predicted XI, in the 4-1-4-1 formation.
