Four Findings from the Manchester Derby

When Jose Mourinho became the manager for Manchester United in the summer, football fans and the media were already building up to the first Manchester Derby.

The first of the season did not disappoint, with Manchester City netting twice in the opening 40 minutes and looking likely to score more.

However, a mistake by Claudio Bravo, making his debut for City in goal, allowed Zlatan Ibrahimovic to pull a goal back for United leaving it at 2-1 going into half-time.

At the start of the second half, United looked the better team, bombarding the City box, but, once City were able to get possession, Pep Guardiola’s side were able to control the pace of the game.

As the match wore on, both sides began to look tired in what was a thrilling clash between the two Manchester sides and City were 2-1 winners when referee Mark Clattenburg blew the final whistle.
