The eagerly anticipated crunch clash between Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City and Jose Mourinho’s Manchester United is upon us and it looks set to be a cracker.
The two managers have played down their intense rivalry in the pre-match conferences, but we can surely expect some fire on the touchline if it get feisty at Old Trafford. It is derby day after all, right?
In terms of team news, City have near-enough a full-strength squad to choose from. Leroy Sane could well start the game, while Ilkay Gundogan is also in contention. However Vincent Kompany, though he has been improving his fitness at a rapid rate, will not be risked for a game of this magnitude.
One would not expect Guardiola to ring too many chances having seen his side win three games out of three in the Premier League, but a tactical tweak is what he does best and he could take Mourinho by surprise.
