While City have brought in nine first-team players this summer, it hasn’t been the busiest summer in terms of letting players leave, and there certainly wasn’t the squad cull some expected when Pep Guardiola took over as City manager at the start of the summer.
In fact, the majority of departures from City happened on deadline day, with five first-team players leaving on loan.
Indeed, there were only two permanent departures from The Blues this summer, when Martin Demichelis and Richard Wright departed at the end of June following the expiration of their contracts.
The others all left on loan, with most coming back next summer, but one special case (Gabriel Jesus) returning a lot earlier.
Much as with my ratings of arrivals (which you can read here) it’s far too early to tell whether the departures will be good signings for their new clubs, but we can judge them based on whether the move represented good value for the club in terms of money and potential. So, here follows our ratings of outgoings at the club this summer.
