This summer has been one of the busiest and most productive in modern memory for Manchester City, with the arrival of Pep Guardiola meaning several players have arrived in order to help the new system work.
Nine first-team signings have been made since June, all around the park, although some have since been loaned out in order to give them the experience they won’t get sitting on City’s bench until they’re older.
With a total spending of almost £150 million, the players who came in are Ilkay Gundogan, Nolito, Leroy Sane, Marlos Moreno, Gabriel Jesus, John Stones, Claudio Bravo, Oleksandr Zinchenko and Aaron Mooy.
Obviously it’s too soon to start judging them on how they’ve done at City – we’ll be doing that later in the season – but we are able to judge them on the value they represent, and the potential they have for the team this season. As part of our post-window analysis, that’s what we’ve done.
