City have been closely linked with the 33-year-old since the beginning of the season when new manager Pep Guardiola dropped number one Joe Hart to the bench.
Various outlets have reported that the two teams have agreed a fee in the region of £17m and that the only thing postponing the deal was the wait for the Catalan giants to sign a replacement.

Stand-in shot-stopper Willy Caballero has also struggled to adapt to the role which forces the man between the sticks to have more possession of the ball but has started every competitive match under Guardiola.

Hart has been linked with moves to Everton, Sevilla, and Borussia Dortmund, and it understood to be poised to leave the club before the end of the transfer window.
In his press conference prior to the Stoke game, Guardiola openly stated that he would not stand in Hart’s way if the England number one asked to leave.
