Hart to stay and fight for place at City

Manchester City goalkeeper Joe Hart will stay at the club and fight for his place in the team under Pep Guardiola, according to Sky Sources.

The 29-year-old was dropped for the opening day fixture against Sunderland, with Willy Caballero taking his place, and has been heavily linked with a departure this summer.

Hart is reportedly out-of-favour because of his poor distribution but, despite being unhappy with the current situation, is poised to remain at the club and attempt to convince Guardiola that he should be the number one goalkeeper.

Reports in Spain emerged on Saturday evening suggesting that City had agreed personal terms with Barcelona shot-stopper Claudio Bravo – news that was expected to all-but confirm the departure of Hart.

Ronald Koeman’s Everton are supposed suitors for Hart, but the Toffees may be forced to look elsewhere in their hunt for a marquee signing as the Englishman is said to be against a move away from the Etihad.
