Last week, Manchester City fans voted on which player was the most important at the club before Pep Guardiola’s summer arrival.
A duel between seven players – David Silva, Fernandinho, Joe Hart, Kevin De Bruyne, Sergio Aguero, Vincent Kompany and Yaya Toure – was contested, and the fans chose which one was the most vital to the club.
Players such as Hart and Kompany have been long-term successes at the club, while De Bruyne made an instant impact in his debut season at the Etihad.
After four impressive seasons with City, Toure established himself among some of the best players in the Sky Blues’ history. However, an uninspiring 2015/16 somewhat tarnished his reputation. Have the City fans forgiven poor form and remembered the good times or has Toure fallen in their pecking order.
